Karl Marchut

Karl was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, in 1950. As a young child Karl fancied himself as Zorro. After carving a "Z" at random on household furniture, refinishing and cabinet making became a hobby for the young teen at Dad’s insistence. The hobby soon became a business. Karl earned an Associate Degree in Electro Mechanical Engineering technology, in 1973, and another Associate in Computer Information Systems from Harrisburg Area Community College , as a Computer Support Specialist as of May 2004. Karl holds a USCG Master Mariner inland 50 ton license. US Sailing certified small boat instructor.

Sailing has also been a hobby for over twenty five years and Karl has gained much experience over the years in fiberglass repair and Teak refinishing. Karl is one of the top racers in the Pinchot Sailing Club. When not working or sailing at Gifford Pinchot State Park, Karl might be found sailing on the Chesapeake, scuba diving, or ballroom dancing.
